ITRISA’s distance learning programme in international trade currently comprises THREE different courses:

  • The 1-year Higher Certificate in International Trade is ideal for those who are looking for a solid grounding in the field and/or have not yet decided on a particular specialist stream (i.e. exports or imports). This course has recently undergone a name change which necessitated a new SAQA ID.  Old NQF Level 5 (SAQA ID 24330); New NQF Level 5 (SAQA ID 96698).  (We are still waiting for SAQA to transfer the course details of the original course to the newly named equivalent course on its site.)

The Higher Certificate in International Trade, which falls into the higher education band, is accredited in South Africa by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

  • The 2-year Advanced Certificate in International Trade (Exports) or (Imports) is ideal for those who are wanting a more in-depth, practical grasp of the international trade field, with particular emphasis on exporting or, alternatively, importing.  The first year of the two Advanced Certificate courses is identical with one or other specialisation (i.e. exports or imports) becoming apparent at the second year level. NQF level: 6 (ID 24333).  This course is due to be phased out with the last intake being accepted in May/June 2017 as the CHE no longer accommodates two-year certificate programmes.
